The very first rodeo took place in 1950 at the Joe & Harry Freeman Coliseum, where it continued to take place until 2003 when the primary events of the rodeo moved to the AT&T Center. The Joe & Harry Freeman Coliseum then added on-site access for vendors to sell western wear, furniture, and other items during the rodeo.
