Best Time to Visit San Antonio

San Antonio offers a humid subtropical climate, meaning the summers are often long and humid, while winters are relatively short and mild. January tends to be the coldest month of the year with temperatures averaging a high of 62 degrees F. July and August are the hottest months of the year ranging as high as 95 degrees F.

San Antonio in the Winter

For those looking to avoid the Texan heat, the best time to visit San Antonio would be in the Winter/Spring months - November to April. At this time the weather is comfortable and the hotel rates tend to be lower. San Antonio’s Winter tends to be short and very mild with temperatures ranging from a high of 63 degrees and a low of 41.

January tends to be the coldest month of the year with December being similar with a low of 42. This is a great time to avoid crowds as summer tends to attract hordes of Texan families with their kids on summer break.

San Antonio in the Spring

Along with Winter, Spring is an ideal time to visit San Antonio due to its mild temperatures and lots of exciting events like culinary demos and pop-ups!

The temperatures offer pleasant highs and cool lows averaging with a high of between 71 and 76 degrees Fahrenheit and a low between 48 and 54 degrees Fahrenheit.

The weather in Spring offers travelers the perfect temperature to explore the otherwise sultry city as you are able to enjoy strolls along the San Antonio River and the Alamo among many other outdoor attractions without worrying about the scorching heat.

San Antonio in Summer

For those looking to experience the Texan heat on their vacation, visiting in the Summer is the best time, with temperatures as high as 90 degrees Fahrenheit. For those brave enough to withstand the heat you can experience one (or a few) of the many exciting events like Fiesta San Antonio and Saturday Night Rodeos.

And when you are looking to cool off there are many indoor attractions to check out, like The Tower of the Americas where you can marvel at the breathtaking view of the city and view stunning pieces of art at the McNay Art Museum
